Jamillah Wright
FOUNDER & CEO, WRITE IT UP
Jamillah Wright is Founder and CEO of Write It Up, a content strategy firm that is certified as a minority- and woman-owned business enterprise (MWBE).
With 20 years of experience, Jamillah has completed work that includes technical writing, marketing, corporate communications and content strategy for the most recognizable companies in the world, including American Express, J.P. Morgan Chase, HBO, Time Inc., Nielsen, Wal-Mart, Unilever, Black Entertainment Television (BET), TV One, Essence magazine and In Style Magazine.
Jamillah combines extensive brand content experience with sharp writing and editing skills. Her specialty is capturing the unique voice and tone of a brand and delivering copy that speaks to the needs and interests of the audience. Her background spans a range of categories, including technology, financial services, media, fashion, beauty, health and consumer packaged goods. She has lectured on writing and content strategy at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the City College of New York School of Journalism.
Jamillah holds a B.A. in English and Communications from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
